Tourism & Cultural Visits

Tourism & Cultural Visits — Learn, Rest, and Support Community Life

Experience Rwanda. Empower Community.

Overview
We leverage local heritage to educate visitors and generate income for our programs. Guests experience the everyday life of our village, meet children in residence, and join guided visits to national parks, genocide memorials, museums, craft workshops, lakesides, and nearby communities. Our visits offer quiet rest by Lake Muhazi, meaningful cultural exchange, and practical support for families and children.

Core purpose

  • Generate sustainable income for Hameau des Jeunes saint Kizito and its programs.
  • Educate visitors about Rwanda’s history, culture, and resilience.
  • Create real livelihood opportunities for local guides, homestay families, and artisans.
  • Offer international friends, donors, and visitors an authentic chance to experience village life.

What we offer

  • Guided community visits and homestays within our village
  • Visits to genocide memorials and museums
  • Safaris and wildlife visits to national parks
  • Craft workshops, farm visits, lake Muhazi relaxation, and cultural performances

How revenue is used / Impact

All income from Tourism & Cultural Visits strengthens our operations and supports program work:

  • Funding residential care and education,
  • Supporting Ifashe Tugufashe family livelihoods,
  • Contributing to conservation fees when visiting national parks.

We will highlight on each booking how visitor fees benefit children and families.

Booking & cancellation

We make booking simple: submit the online booking form and we’ll reply within 48 hours. No deposit is required — payment can be made upn arrival. Please confirm any special requirements or dietary needs when you book so we can prepare.

Cancellation & changes

If you need to cancel or change your booking, please notify us as soon as possible. We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations so we can reallocate guides and hosts. Because we do not take deposits, there’s no deposit to refund; however, last-minute cancellations or no-shows make it difficult for our small community operations, so we appreciate clear communication.
